Jamaica
The Jamaican Constabulary Force (JCF) provides Police
Certificates to individuals wishing to obtain information relating
to any criminal record information that may be held on them by the
JCF. The JCF charges £38.00 for this service.
Application Procedure
You will need to supply the Jamaican Constabulary Force (JCF)
with the following information:
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Place of Birth
- Date that the individual left Jamaica and the last address in
Jamaica
- The purpose for which the Police Certificate is required
- The address and person to whom the applicant wishes the
Certificate to be sent
- A full set of authenticated fingerprints
- Postal orders in the amount of £38.00 made out to the Jamaica
Constabulary Force.
- Photocopy of current passport
- Two (2) passport-sized photographs
(The applicant must take the photographs and a photocopy
of his or her passport to the Jamaican High Commission in London to
be verified. The applicant must also take their original passport
to the High Commission. The High Commission will charge £15.00 for
this service.)

A covering letter with the information from (i) to (vi),
including fingerprints, certified copy of passport, photographs,
and postal orders should be sent by recorded delivery to:

Content of certificates
The JCF Police Certificate will contain all convictions recorded
against an individual subject to the following :
An individual is able to apply to the Jamaican Ministry of
Justice to have a conviction expunged from his or her record
providing that they have not been convicted of an offence in the 7
years since being convicted. This is not an automatic process.
Cost of certificates
You must supply postal orders to the value of £38.00 sterling
with the application.
Turnaround Times
The JCF aims to produce a Police Certificate within two (2)
weeks of receiving a complete application (if applying from within
Jamaica.) Requests made from outside of Jamaica will take
between 6 and 8 weeks. The certificate is then returned by
standard post.
The CRB has taken all reasonable
steps to ensure that the information contained herein is as
accurate and comprehensive as possible. In order to maintain the
accuracy of the information, the CRB will update the information
periodically.
However, the CRB cannot be held responsible for the
level of service provided by overseas authorities. As such, please
do not contact the CRB regarding applications submitted to overseas
authorities.
